Broadfoot's goal was a very good header. At least you got the right game though. Edited October 11, 2017 by Orraloon

The best runner up by miles, really unlucky to be up against such a strong Portugal team. UEFA have got this system wrong, can't believe they've persisted with it as long. If there was one less group you could have 8 group winners plus the best runner up qualifying, with the remaining runners up plus the best 3rd place getting a play off. At least that way no one is being penalised despite finishing runner up in their group. Edit- Just realised there's not enough international dates in the calendar to have groups of 7 plus a play off. Back to the drawing board... Edited October 11, 2017 by Toepoke

Final group games were in November when the play-offs normally are. It just worked out neatly that there were 7 groups and 14 teams qualified.
