What utterly baffles me is why managers don't make the necessary changes WHEN they are needed and when there is still time for them to work. Good managers do. We never go close to running midfield tonight, at any point.

Strachan will be praised to the heavens for 'almost' getting us to a play off spot. Callum McGregor & John McGinn getting zero minutes in this double header while guys like Anya, Snodgrass & Martin get the usual game time sums up Strachans reign. Needs a freshen up and some new ideas from a younger, less stubborn manager. The fact that we had McGinn and McGregor on the bench and neither seen a single minute of action, yet the same players who have failed on this stage numerous times before are again given the chance is unforgivable. It has been pretty obvious that the last five results have relied more on luck rather than the managers ability to get the best out of the players and employ tactics that play to their strengths. Get him and the rest of his cronies to f u ck as soon as possible. 110% correct.. the quicker folk realise this the better. I keep repeating it but the way the delusional folk kept backing him is part of our downfall. A nation of losers who are happy with simply being in with a chance. robbo cop
No Mginn or Mcgregor who even now are better than Bannan and Mcarthur, tried and tested midfield were never at the races. Far too late with Fletcher and Snodgrass to change the game. Would have accepted going out if we had tried to have a right go. Bannan, Mcarthur, Phillips out to start with, Mcginn, Mcgregor, Armstrong when fit in the team while Burke must come into it soon. Strachan stuck with the tried and tested who have failed before. McExpat
So near yet so far. Missing out on bloody goal difference is a sickener yet seems appropriate for us and our luck. We got some breaks in this campaign, the amount of late goals snatching victories for us is uncanny but alas it still wasn't enough. Not This Time

Scored the winner v Slovenia, involved in the winner the other night and he also won the free kick v England which lead to the Griffiths second. That adds up to a decent amount of points. He's obviously not good enough to be a starter but no issue with him being in the squad given what he's done in last 12 months.

Mitre
i dont like singling folk out but that performance of matt phillips was an utter farce. should be his last game for scotland. zero effort.
Tartan Chris
Bannan used the ball well I thought tonight. Again probably in the category of good squad player but not good enough to be a regular starter. There will be some regeneration in central midfield anyway as Fletcher and Scot Brown (again) will probably call it a day. Maybe Snodgrass aswell. I think that if Strachan had adopted the idea of utilising Celtic's Scottish players sooner, we probably would've ended up in the play-offs. In the previous few games, there's been a clear difference as those players know how to play with each other. I'm disappointed that McGregor didn't get a go in this campaign, as I think he would've made a difference - even coming off of the bench. The team that started this campaign was radically different to the team yah ended it. It perhaps took Strachan too long to workout what the best combination was. If he does stay on for the Euro qualifiers, this will hopefully mean that we can get going much faster and not give ourselves too much to do at the end of the campaign. Martin is constantly slated but has extended our hopes until now, Anya slated set up goal last Thursday etc etc etc. Armchair fans are in armchairs for a reason - because they are not qualified for non-league management never mind international football management. We were dire for 80 minutes of that match but we had so many chances late on we could have won it but only drew. Oh for us to have played for the full 90 there. Aye - that was this campaign's Georgia. Lithuania hardly did anything after that game which makes it an even more disappointing result. In the next campaign we have to beat every game against the team from pots 5/6 if we want to have any chance of qualifying - and get four points from everyone else (expect the top seeds). It's a wonder why we hardly ever get twelve from twelve against the bottom two seeds.
