TAMB CLOSURE ANNOUNCEMENT

Recommended Posts

Following diminishing numbers of visitors to TAMB and the subsequent reduction in TAMB income, it is the intention for TAMB to close definitively from 1st November 2017.

TAMB can no longer generate enough advertising revenue to cover the costs of around £300/month to pay for the dedicated server that hosts the TAMB software.

The dedicated server is also older equipment and no longer maintainable, so at some point it would be necessary to migrate the TAMB to a new cloud-based platform. This is quite a large job and would take some time to do. We feel it wouldn't be a worthwhile task given the reduction in traffic and usage of TAMB.

It is the opinion of the TAMB Team that the days of messageboards have largely gone, being overtaken by other platforms.

Thank you to all users of the TAMB over the years, and we look forward to seeing you on some other online forums in the future.

The TAMB Team

I'd like to know how much is the net shortfall revenue versus expenses. You have been quoting 300 a month in expenses for ages but never ever the revenue.

If it is 250 in revenue versus 300 expenses you are effectively closing this wonderful board for a poxy 50 quid a month out of pocket expenses.

You need to open up here folks. If not now when?

Big mistake closing this board.

That in no way should be a reason for closing it.

I first found the TAMB in June 2001 and there were about 4000 members.

The volume of traffic may have diminished in recent months but it's still massive compared to the early years.

Many, many people read it but don't necessarily post.

Many rely on it still for Scotland match info, tickets, meeting places etc.without ever posting or posting 1-2 a year.

We've always said in Leith that the world would end when Hibs won the cup. Slowly but surely it looks like we were right.

First it was Brexit and Trump, Dode Michael, then that crazy basturd with the curtains in Korea started playing fukk and now the TAMB is finished

whatever happens, it happened
