So many questions.

Why go in the river?

How can you not get back out?

How do you end up needing hospital treatment for hypothermia on a summers night.?

STV article says he was in the water for an hour.

Depends where in the Kelvin he was.... if it was round about Great Western Road/Inn Deep Bar, then the banks there are pretty steep, so no wonder he got stuck.

Sounds like half the squad were out in Glasgow for a session after the Thistle game on Saturday.

It might be summer (although that's debatable I suppose!) but the water will still be easily cold enough to lower the body's core temperature to levels that would induce the onset of hypothermia. Even in the warmest of summer weather.

There is no rumours...... just horsing around (spoke with a guy last night who knows a few of the players socially when the story was just breaking) and apparently he went in after his shirt when it was chucked into the river on a night out and he got stuck.

It certainly is a strange little story

Not necessarily

Young guy out for a few pints, needs a slash and nips into a wooded/bushy area, next thing he loses his footing and ends up in the river

or if rumours are to be believed; young guy out on the peev, gets into a pagger and starts running, ends up in the afore mentioned wooded/bushy area not knowing what lies beneath, loses his footing and ends up in the water

Considering the amount of people that go out on the sauce every weekend in Glasgow how many of them end up in the river? Less than 0.5% I'd venture.

You offer reasons for how it could have happened which is fair enough but it's still a strange/rare occurrence

The Dolphin was closed for about a year as part of the building it was in collapsed. Only opened up again in the last couple of weeks.

Aye, opened back up a fortnight ago.

Italian boy next door done a runner so there was a dispute over insurance. Folk in the flats had been out for a year too. Couldn't even get in to take their stuff out!

I was wondering if the flats had been locked as well as they still looked "lived in" from the street.  That sounds like a nightmare!
