That eejit above is trying to say that Hanley deserves a chance but if Naismith starts rapping in the goals, he’s not.
killiefaetheferry
Naismith has been out since about August with an ankle ligament injury. He needs games to get properly match fit. The guy is only 31 and was never lightning quick anyway. A fit Naisy will do really well for Hearts, probably in an attacking midfield role. If we are talking about bring new players into the Scotland side it’s guys like him we need to provide the experience in the side. It seems to me typical of the short term/short memory culture in football these days that some people are writing him off. The guy’s not done, he’s been injured ffs, and the sooner he’s match fit the better for Scotland.
N4Footsoldier
I feel Naisy still wouldn't be a bad shout for the Scotland jersey. Has the ability to change a game off the bench, can pop up with the odd goal. I remember last campaign when we needed to beat Slovenia at home, Griffiths was superb up front but went off injured, Naisy was able to come on and act as a pretty much like-for-like change. That game could have went so differently if he wasn't effective. As mentioned, a fit Naismith would be of some use, whether he'll be deemed good enough to make the squad again however is another matter. He is only 27 so we have him for next 5 or so years at least. We could do with a young striker to replace him eventually or as back up. Having watched mcburnie I don't think he will be good enough and will eventually end up in the English championship. Cummings isn't international level either. Griffiths wasn't international level until the last year or so. Kenny Miller got caps early but just wasn't up to it until he 'clicked' at 25. I understand your point but Cummings has barely scored at English championship level and personally I can't see him making the step up to international level in the way Griffith's has. If not then he seriously needs to consider his options, a move back to Scotland to the likes of hearts or rangers would do his career a world of good imo. Needs to be playing first team football as he is 22 and doesn't look like fulfilling his early promise. If he moved to Hearts he’ll certainly learn how to kick fuck out of his opponents. ProudScot
Mackay-Steven with an absolute screamer. Goal of the season contender. Ryan Christie with a brace also.

Guys class for Bournemouth and should of played far more than he has. It's not like Forrest or Phillips or Burke or Ritchie have been outstanding in a Scotland shirt. There’s atleast 3 young centre back in the SPL who should be in ahead of him (Souttar, McCrorie & Hendry) and Liam Lindsay. Possibly McKenna too. SkyBlueScot
Just read this on the BBC website: Tom English Chief sports writer, BBC Scotland "Hearts are defending well. Christophe Berra again is a colussus at the back. "At the moment, is he number one contender for player of the year? He can't be far off it. He's been very, very good." He has been solid this season and worth his starting place in the Scotland team. However, he is in the twilight of his career and Scotland need to be looking at younger defenders to slot into the centre of defence whose name isn't Hanley. Berra is in form but 33 this month. Souttar, McCrorie, Lindsay, Hendry, McKenna & Bates need included and blooded in. Hanley can do one. Rude Gullit
Tbf the type of player Berra is he could foreseeably play till he is 38 or so. Not ideal but at least he might have another few campaigns in him should we need more transition time.
Malcolm
Our back 4 on current form should be bardsley Berra Tierney robertson

mccaughey85
Back on the subject of strikers, Sam Gallagher scored again yesterday, does anyone think he will end up playing for us as he is never going to get in the England squad and could be a good option as back up for Griffith's. He's only 22 and will probably make it at English championship level.

He did well in the friendly there and could be an option in the future but I think it's a safer bet to stick with a player used to that position.
