All the scottish players involved v Bayern played really well. Forrest has now set the bar for himself, him and Tierney were superb tonight

Good point - Tierney was class and McGregor showed up brilliantly against top rate opposition, and seemed totally unphased by their reputation (a hallmark of an international)

If Celtic had spent £15M a piece on two centre halves they'd have won. They can afford it. Not that i'm too bothered, the Scots were superb.

IMO Tierney is the best full back in british football today, a real top class player. The release clause in his contract has to be around £20m. We need him to start against Holland as a left back, and if Robertson plays then he's got to play at left mid. We need to have both these players playing down the left.

Not in recent squads but Rhodes scored for Sheffield Wednesday

Yep, goal and hit the post. His first start for a while I think, so will probably put the manager in a mind to start him more often.

Archer also played. Thought he did ok. Didn't have much of a chance with either goal, and seemed very confident taking balls out of the air. Seems like a capable keeper.

Indeed.

Just needs to do it more often.

And maybe even for Scotland once in a while.

This is the major issue now, he has been pish for years and now he is showing the talent he showed as a youngster, if not all the time. He needs a bit of confidence and consistency and maybe he can become the player we once hoped. Wont get too excited yet because he could play next week and fall over 6 times, cry to the ref and not make it past one player or cross one decent ball

McTominay vs Benfica

Looks tidy, strong, kept is simple for the most part, but looks like he can make a pass. From comments from their fans and Mourinho he was basically told to keep things simple and try and mirror Matic, which it seems he did.

All in all a solid Champions league debut against good opposition.

Aye, agreed. Need Tierney playing his best position for us.

That's the thing for me, Coutts and Fleck are first choice players for a team who've had a ridiculous winning run in the last 12 months and it shows no sign of stopping.

Radio covering the game last night expressed bemusement Coutts had never had a call up, he has the best passing stats of any midfielder in the championship.

Coutts actually has completed the most passes in the Chamionship.
Narrowly ahead of Barry Bannan in 2nd, Kevin McDonald in 3rd, and Liam Bridcutt in 4th place.

Lindsay plays 90 mins in a Barnsley win. Why is he not in the squad?

Sounds like he's having a good first season in the Championship. TBH it's hard to see why Hanlon got called up in front of him.

I'm surprised we've taken this friendly as we usually hide from them if possible, but why not take two games like most other countries? That way you could field Hanlon and Berra in one game then Lindsay and Berra in the next, and similar with other experimental positions.

No Cairney tonight for Fulham, according to SSN Burke is under consideration for WBA tomorrow.

Rested as 3 games in 6 days too much for someone on the way back from injury. I get the feeling that was why he was left out of the squad.

Would be amazed if he's not in there for the March games.
