Scotty CTA
Looks like Partick Thistle, Killie, and Ross County through as three of the 4 second best. (Both Dundee teams through barring at least respective 8-0 and 6-0 skelpings.) Edited July 29, 2017 by Scotty CTA Mistake

Reevesy
How does the draw for the last 16 work, are the teams who've been in each other's group kept apart or is it a free for all?
Scotty CTA
The four UEFA-qualifying clubs and the four group winners with the best record are seeded for the draw.
Scotty CTA
Looks like Falkirk, Ayr United, Motherwell (all on 12 points) and the winner of the Dundee derby will be seeded.

Reevesy
Wanted Ayr United away before the seedings were finalised so you could say Killie at home is the complete opposite of that.
kumnio
You could have ended up with a home draw v Ayr or any of the other unseeded teams. Today just gave you the right to be seeded as one of the top 8 teams* left in the competition. Its just the luck of the draw. * oxymoronic

It's to give the illusion of being fair and random but really it's just maximising the gates (and helping Rangers) behind the scenes. Ensuring Celtic, Rangers, and Hibs at home will draw bigger gates in the bigger stadiums. Same with the Dundee derby. Aberdeen (known for a strong travelling support) will be away to a smaller club, with the Falkirk/Livingstone tie setting up Rangers next opponent. 9 minutes ago, ShedTA said: So what was the point of today then? iainmac1
23 minutes ago, ShedTA said: So what was the point of today then? Stupid competition. All the group games need played whether two teams are already through come the last game or not. Today's game decided who would be seeded. You could have the scenario where in the last game both teams are already qualified and both guaranteed to be non seeds. Then it would be a real dead rubber game but that's the way it is. Happens all the time in group stage competitions.
