Exactly what I'm trying to explain to a braindead Yank right now. You can almost script this shit.Ā

That might actually have some credence if it wasn't for the fact that the current PM is under pressure for cutting police numbers and not cutting immigration when she wasĀ Home Secretary.Ā

That may be true but a Corbyn led government wouldn't be tolerated.Ā

Our game next Saturday must be considered a pretty high risk you'd think given recent events.

Not trying to put the shiters up people, more a thought that if you turn up at 450, you might not (shouldn't!) hear the anthems....

Am not clear as to what the tin foil helmet mob are suggesting here re theĀ intillegence services and forthcoming election;

a; attacks were coordinated by intelligence services

b; intelligence services were aware of imminent attack(s) but were directed to hold back by govt.

c; intelligence services were negligent

Crossed my mind today that election might be put on hold but surely that runs contrary to whole 'not let them win' mantra. 2 suspension of campaigning during 1 election tho utterly unprecedented.Ā

Would the SFA / FA be talking with the police about next week? Ā I hope so.

Funnily enough a Harold Wilson led Labour government thatĀ arguably had a much more socialist programme than Corbyn is proposing wasĀ tolerated.

In fact, he won three elections, so it was tolerated three times,

That was in a period at the height of the Cold War where the world was a much more dangerous place than it is now and elements within MI5 considered Wilson to be a Soviet spy.

As aaid points out, this is far more damaging to May than Corbyn through happening 'on her watch' on top of cuts to the police. Trying to twist this into some preemptive anti-Corbyn coup is idiotic. It also deflects attention away from the reasons those who carry out these acts feel the need to do so, and the only hope of stopping them is to focus on those reasons, not to ignore them.

Attlee, Wilson - we've had Labour governments carrying out socialist policies that Corbyn-in-power could only dream of. There are far simpler methods of controlling the executive in a parliamentary democracy than organizing the random slaughter of one's own citizens - just watch Yes Minister.

Ā

That's interesting, I didn't know that.Ā
