ErsatzThistle
Just watched this unintentionally hilarious documentary from the mid-nineties called "Rock'n'Roll Star". It's about a band from Hamilton called "The Gyres" billed as "Scotland's answer to Oasis". Some brilliant one liners, journalists talking pretentious pish and the arrogance from the lead singer is Visual quality isn't great but it's only a half hour watch. Anyone remember them ? Where are they now ?
Toepoke
Mind seeing them support David Bowie at the SECC, heard them interviewed afterwards saying they got a rapturous reception and blew Bowie offstage, aye right! They seemed to be attempting to mimic the Oasis model of telling everyone you're the best band in the world hoping it might rub off, unfortunately they didn't have the songs to back it up. dan cake
Remember them being touted as the next big thing in the indie scene, they had the swagger but not the tunes "The view" would be today's version of them
Ally Bongo
Were they not from Blantyre ? Please dont associate Hamilton with that midden
