  1. Ok folk need your help misplaced the lace for my ghillie shirt anyone know where I can get a replacement from or roughly what length they are
  2. 1138 ardrossan sqd. Leading cadet Craig. Don't think I managed to get any of them right but I did manage to win the aircraft I'd quiz not long after I started atc. It was run by some far careers guys as a bit of fun and they couldn't believe I could name them all even down to the f3 or gr5 designation. Guess I was a bit of a geek lol
  3. Corby isn't as Scottish as it once was now. There has been a massive influx of eastern Europeans and the Scots there are all older generations. Most younger folk there just say they are of Scottish ancestry
  4. It's because they don't want to use the American dollar. Links was about to drop it in favour of a good based economy then next thing you know gadaffi is bad man no1. Iraq wanted to drop the dollar and next thing we have the first gulf war. Syria wants away from the dollar and look what's happening there
  5. I think they would do well in certain parts of the UK. Certainly be able to pick up a couple of seats here and there. Can see areas such as the north east backing snp probably the old labour heartlands
  6. I can see libdem doing well out of this. Those who voted to remain or have seen through the lies told by the leave mob and now want to stay will not vote Tory so it leaves them basically with he choice of a Labour party full of in fighting and splits, a green party who might get a few more votes or the lib Dems who seem the best of a bad bunch. One thing is clear is it will probably split the remain votes around several party's where as the leave votes will all stick firmly behind Tory. For all i don't want it i can see Tory's gaining seats across the board and pushing us even further down the road of dispair. On a side note I think if snp decided to stand in seats out with Scotland they could do surprisingly well as they are seen in some areas as being a credible opposition rather than the tame party labour have become
  7. I do wonder just how far along the nk nuclear programme is. Ok they seem to have the delivery systems but as to the war heads that's a different matter. Could there be a lot of noise when in fact they are barely able to split the atom
  8. They tried CDC in Atlanta in season 1 then are heading for fort benning at the start of season 2. By season 5 they are trying to get to Washington but end up stopping at alexandria where they try and rest and regroup after the trials of terminus. Guess at some point they will continue the journey to Washington and find more trouble to stop them getting there
  9. Even if he didn't want to or was forced into putting down his arm and working for peace the sheer respect McGuiness had amongst the republican community would mean that most would follow him and back the peace process
  10. Would love to see how much is off the west coast and how easy it would be to get once the subs are gone
  11. I do wonder how much of a choice he had from going from freedom fighter/terrorist to politician. I just get the feeling that he was in a corner and it was his only way out. By all reports he was high up in the IRA and those who looked up to him would have respected his turn to politics without looking to hard into why.
  12. Got a link to where you got it. My virgin media coming to an end and looking at maybe going down this route. If anyone else has a link to get an open box with subscriptions it would be appreciated
  13. Try to ignore idiots like gusmac. They think they are so perfect and can do no wrong but usually they are the ones with the most problems. They think if they bring others down it makes them better when in fact they only make them selves look worse. You have taken the first and possibly hardest step in recognising that things are going wrong and are starting to sort it out. Keep it up and you will get there. Always know there are those on here who will happily help you and give you the encouragement to better yourself
  14. Congrats buddy It is both the most scary and the most rewarding time of your life. One tip i will give is start stocking up on nappies and baby wipes just now. When ever you see them on offer get some as you have no idea how many you will go through Apart from that i hope it all goes well and the mother has an easy pregnancy. If she is unlucky enough to suffer from hg give us a shout as my other half went through it and got sick to death of folk giving well meaning but totally wrong advice due to not knowing what hg was
  15. Congrats Iain. He don't think we could cope having both fin and a newborn
  16. No way will it affect his football allegiance I've been singing paper roses to him since he was born lol. He i think i will be the same as he gets older and just swear he is already stubborn as an ox lol gona be some fine battle of wills between us to come.
  17. Lol already started telling him it means it's run out of ice cream
  18. Well as it's almost 2 years since i started this thread i thought I'd share what i have learned in the time and the laughs he has given us. Firstly don't go with the thought that baby has to be in a crib or Moses basket for the first few months. Our wee finlay (got my way with the Scottish name lol) hated the Moses basket. Tried everything from swaddling and nesting to hot water bottles before he went in. After about 3 weeks of sleepless nights my other half was putting stuff away in his nursery and piped him in his big for so he would be safe after a few minutes she wondered why he wasn't making any noise so checked on him to find him speed eagled and fast asleep. So straight out to the shops to get a monitor and he has been in his cot since. Don't let the midwives push your other half to Brest feed. We were lucky in that fin was happy to take breast or bottle so when he started loosing weight due to my other half not producing enough he went onto the bottle no problem. Fecking clothes. Why does every shop that sells baby clothes have to have there own size ratio. We were getting things from one place for his age but it would be too wee or would drown him. Why can't there be a standardised size guide Don't watch your favorite team play on TV when baby is on your lap sleeping the scream they give from the fright you give them when you jump and shout out when they score is not worth it. Talk your other half into going to a baby group near by. There is usually one at the local library. She might not feel up to it and might not like going up without her slap on but it gives them a break away from the house and interacting with folk going through the same things you are and know how you are feeling. As someone posted before it's the small things that bring the biggest smiles. Old wee fin said dada from an early age his mum hated it as that's all he would say till about 16 Ian months. Even now it's wee things that make me smile. I had tears in my eye when he first pointed to our house when i asked him where are we Don't get too worried if they are slow to talk compared with others of there age. Fin still doesn't say many words but at nursery his problem solving is way ahead of everyone else in his age group. The worst thing for me is having to do shift work so when I'm back shift i don't get to see him much. To sort of make up for it when I'm on days or nights i make sure i do his bedtime routine. So changed and into his sleepsuit then on to daddy's lap for cuddles while he has his last bottle then into his gro-bag and away to bed. Best things we got for him Ewan the dream sheep. A cuddly toy that plays sounds to sooth and a red glow for nights Gro-bag basically a sleeping bag with no sleeves so baby can't kick it off and stays nice and cozy Inflatable duck bath. Goes in the bath and gives baby a safe place to have a bath once they can sit unaided. Has a heat spot so you know if the water is too hot and means you use less water. Might be we are lucky but as soon as you say bath to fin he is straight to the stairs all excited Hardest part of the first 2 years has been dealing with fins ear troubles. He has had ear infections on and off since about march last year. As time went on they got closer and closer together. After countless visits to the docs they finally referee us to the ent clinic who have now recommended putting grommets in and adenoids out. Sent us to the pediatric doc just to make sure there was no underlying problems. All clear from him today so just the wait now for his op. Been a struggle trying to cope with him. Up untill a couple of weeks ago he wouldn't sleep through the night in his cot. Would go down fine but would wake up in the middle of the night and wouldn't settle untill he was in with us. Some times he would still not fully settle even then. This we think is is down to his ears giving him pain. Doesn't help that he doesn't cry with pain but gets angry and his behaviour goes down hill
  19. It may an d her crows do deny us a referendum then I think most will accept UDI. At least that way we walk away debt free
  20. It could be affecting you with out you knowing it. As to taking it every day na doesn't always work !Ike that. I've know alcoholics who would go for months without a drink or only the odd glass of wine but then the go on a bender for a week or 2 and end up going through bottles and bottles of drink. Like I say by the sounds of it you might be at the very beginning a of addiction but you see where things are going and don't like the destination. This is where the hard part comes getting off that train. Don't expect to be transformed overnight just take everyday as it comes. Each day you can choose not to have any Coke and before you know it months have gone by and it's easier to say no thanks. As others have said talk to your mates even if it's just to say you need a break off the gear for a bit. Some will understand and help you maybe even join you which will make things easier. I know it's hard but as time goes by try not to focus on how long you have not had any as for some this can be a negative depending on you. Hope this helps and at least you know there are plenty on here to help you
  21. Even though it's not every week it does sound like you have the beginnings of an addiction. BUT you are seeing what it's doing to you and the situations you are getting in and realise it's becoming a problem. Some people are naturally inclined to addiction and this can lead to them having serious drug or drink problems but if you channel that addiction into something good or at least not damaging them at least it takes you away from the things like drugs and drink. For me I went loopy with weed when I was younger all I wanted to do was get stoned I didn't have a big circle of friends as I just wanted to hide away. Eventually I got into online gaming which helped me. I could go on and have a good blast on whatever game we were playing and that helped me escape from life for a few hours. Sometimes the best way to treat addiction is to sort that part of you life that you are trying to escape. For some it's work for some it's the abuse they went through when they were younger. The point being there is always something we are trying to escape from and it's finding a way to escape that's not going to kill you or destroy your family
