  1. Maybe off topic a bit but with clubs cutting the allocation of tickets to away supporters of Celtic and Rangers surely now the argument that clubs require both to visit twice a season with a huge travelling support is dead in the water. Could this lead to reconstruction and could we finally have a proper top league where teams don't face each other four times a season? Just a thought...
  2. Morton v Hearts could be quite good tonight. Will be interesting to see if the Premiership side can avoid an upset. Looking forward to watching.
  3. Maybe this guy could do a job 😂 https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68532385
  4. She is phenomenal. There was a post on X, formerly Twitter, which included her interview. All it said was close your eyes and this is Mickey Mouse discussing athletic achievements. That being said, I'd put up with it.
  5. Both penalties awarded in that match this afternoon were poor. The red card was justified though. It was a cowardly option from the Celtic player. Having directed the ball upwards off his chest he had to meet the challenge of the Hearts player by going to head it, instead he made a split second decision to raise his foot almost 6 feet off the ground. Can have no complaints. It spoiled the game from a neutral perspective. I know that lad Idah has been on the score sheet a few times for Celtic and granted today was the first time I'd seen him as I don't watch much Premiership but I thought he was absolutely honking. Imagine starting him over Kyogo.
  6. Varying opinions on the Rodgers thing. My standpoint is he didn't like being asked for extra detail on the first half showing. Jane Lewis was doing her job well though, trying to get the Celtic FC manager to inform the fans of the team why they struggled in the opening half - more journalists should ask questions like this to players/managers. While I don't think there is any need for a great deal of uproar - I don't think Rodgers is some wild sexist/misogynist - I do believe he could have conducted himself better during that interview, particularly with the way it ended. He came across as unprofessional in those moments. A quiet apology to Jane Lewis from Rodgers is all that's needed in my opinion. After all she will interview him countless more times going forward - it's nice to maintain a bit of professional respect.
  7. It was an attempt by Rodgers to belittle her for doing her job well. Would have been the same if he had said "good lad" to a male reporter with a similarly dismissive/sarcastic tone. In the moment Jane Lewis didn't seem too bothered as she was heard light-heartedly saying "and off he goes" or words to that effect before it went back to the studio, but perhaps that was just her being professional while the mic was switched on. If Rodgers, or any other manager wants to avoid tough questioning speak to club media only - they'll toss you soft questions all day and night. Hopefully he will find a way to apologise privately to her.
  8. It was indeed a wild scoreline - and an awful day at the office for my Stenny boys. For the last several weeks Stenny have been bang average - and maybe that is being kind. We are definitely going through a dodgy phase of the season, which all the supporters knew would come, but thankfully we have a handy 14/11 point lead (depending on what happens with games in hand of other teams) at the summit of League Two. As for yesterday, have to tip the hat to Clyde. They were excellent. They pressed well and just about everything came off for them in an attacking sense. We conceded a couple of poor goals from a defensive point of view, but a couple of the goals were also very well worked and taken by Clyde. If anything it should serve as a reminder to us that the league title isn't wrapped up just yet. League Two teams are all evenly matched this season, it really does come down to who plays well on the day. Yesterday's massive reversal against the league's bottom club proves that. I wonder what next Saturday will bring.
  9. Aye. Imagine logging on to listen to that pair of helmets give a coaching seminar.
  10. Beale sacked by Sunderland - now the holder of an unwanted record according to this report. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68340952
  11. Black Snow. Australian 6-parter that was on BBC Four last year. I finally got round to watching it having recorded it when it was on. Engaging cold-case murder mystery. Well acted. Really enjoyed it. I don't know if it would still be on iplayer for anyone interested but Google did suggest it is on Amazon Prime.
  12. Wonder what Warnock's weekly pay packet is for this?
  13. As far as I know the 10 wins in a row is a record outwith the big two in the SPFL era. Prior to that Gretna had some epic runs of wins while they were working their way up through the lower leagues back in the day. Having spent the previous Saturday afternoon (Dec 30) at NDP I understand what you are saying about the cold there ha ha. Enjoy the trip to Cappielow on Saturday.
  14. Good to hear you getting out and about and taking in some lower league fare while the Premiership is on its winter break mate. Clyde should really improve now that McCall can bring in the players he wants in this window. I'm pretty sure they will avoid finishing in the dreaded bottom spot in League Two. That could be a straight fight between Elgin City and the once reliably good Forfar Athletic, who have declined at a rapid rate over the past three seasons or so. Meanwhile, Stenny racked up their tenth win on the spin in the league on Saturday. The character in the squad is immense and again, although we weren't outstanding, we found a way to grind out the three points against the aforementioned Forfar. If we can beat second placed The Spartans away this coming Saturday I might just start dreaming of us winning our first league title in club history.
  15. I realise this is disrupting the obsession with the 3 clubs in the Scottish Premiership and the odd morbid fascination with a keeper scoring in Scotland's second flight, but I think it is worth mentioning the recent form of my club, Stenhousemuir, in Scottish League Two. Playing in a division that sees 8 out of the 10 clubs very evenly matched, Clyde (pre Jan 1) and Elgin, are pish so forget about them, Stenny won 9 out of 9 during the second quarter of fixtures. 9 out of 9. A 27 point clean sweep which has seen us open up an 11 point gap at the top of the table which will hopefully lead to a league title win. When was the last time a team won nine in a row against comparative competition during a league campaign? While nothing is being taken for granted in a highly competitive league, I hope that Stenny can use this run as a springboard to automatic promotion to League One. I must pay credit to Gary Naysmith, his coaching team and the Stenny squad of players who turn up and work hard every week. Every game in the division is tight (even at times against Clyde and Elgin) with not much between the teams - our attitude and commitment to defensive solidarity these last few months have shown what can be done when the work rate and quality of the players further up the pitch is rewarded. Mon the Warriors.
  16. Rangers v Ross County has been caped tonight. The A9 is apparently not safe for travel. Stay safe everyone.
  17. Yeah, it's got to be up there. I know it is being expanded from 2025 - don't know the details as not too interested but think it is going to be 24 clubs (not sure on criteria for entry) and it will be in Saudi. Unsure how frequently it will happen.
  18. Thanks TDYER - what a nightmare you had with that also. It just shows you, in the moving process the chain can break at any point and it affects so many parties. Thankfully it resolved for you in a reasonable time frame. Moving house though...... Why does anyone do it 😂
  19. In case anyone wanted to know how this concluded................................ Based on feedback from a few locals we went with Clyde Property to sell our old house. I have to say they were excellent. Dynamic and aggressive in marketing the house and they had a good client list. The house sold 6 days after it went on sale at the end of July. August was crap in terms of finding a place to buy. Nothing suitable was on the market in our area - we were kind of limited due to the wife being stubborn over school catchment area, but that's another story - we saw some properties which all had too many drawbacks to make putting in an offer viable. Finally, September came round and a suitable house which ticked all the boxes for us became available. Our offer was accepted. The couple who were moving out were going to a new build and had an entry date of Nov 20. That suited us fine and our buyer seemed happy with the arrangement too........ Until he wasn't. In the middle of October, with things seemingly all in place, the prick, out of the blue, instructed his solicitor to inform us he was withdrawing. So now mega stress. Could we sell our house again, would we be able to maintain our purchase of the new house? The people we had bought from gave us one week, per advice from their solicitor, and luckily we managed to find another buyer for our place within this time frame. Again credit to Clyde Property - they were superb during this period. So all in we moved on November 20 and are settling in to the new place. Thanks again to everyone who added to this thread back in July when I asked the original question. TLDR: basically if you are selling a house and Clyde Property have an office in your area, use them. We were very pleased with the service from the Stirling office.
  20. Big Ramy sending boys up the road for diving - following in the footsteps of this guy who sacked a player during a HT rant 🤣
  21. That footage of the fourth official grinning and nodding in approval at Clement after the second goal is correctly earning that man and the officiating of Scottish football in general serious criticism. Ridiculous to see that.
  22. If someone is willing to pay a site fee to host it, it would happen.
  23. I had no interest in it mate. Some of my writing colleagues were working on it so I supported their articles, read their work etc but didn't get involved myself. I haven't seen the fight but it sounds like Fury was woefully under prepared and was lucky to win the split decision. What a shambles. One curious thing I picked up on was Fury claiming to be rusty after 11 months out the ring. 1) it's his choice to not box for that long and 2) his opponent was having his first ever boxing match so making that statement doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Obviously Ngannou has had success in another combat sport and is a strong athlete in phenomenal shape but it seems like he highlighted Fury's slide. The big man's skills are eroding and Usyk is favourite in my book to defeat him. Although this coming week there will probably be an excuse postponing that bout. As for the paid atendees speaking positively about the event and Saudi - that pish is as transparent as clear water. Even Teddy Atlas was at it so he sold out to them too. Hope they enjoyed their paydays.
  24. Nah, no money mate. Just was asked to predict the path to the final for the article below. Shocker yesterday, will see how today's two picks go. I admit I got sucked in to the Northern Hemisphere hype fest. Oh well.... https://featured.japan-forward.com/sportslook/rugby-world-cup-pool-stage-review-and-knockout-stage-predictions/
  25. I did a path to the final prediction article as my Editor at SportsLook asked for it. I have a northern hemisphere clean sweep this weekend and my prediction journey ends with Ireland narrowly defeating France in the final.
