  1. A bit of a long shot but I lost my flag in one of these places - Pacino's restaurant or O'Donoghues pub on Suffolk Street, or Oliver St. John Gogarty bar on Temple Bar next to the Old Dubliner. It is a cloth flag about 4' x 2' and it is covered in country and city sewn on badges
  2. Anyone got any suggestions for TA friendly late opening pubs or clubs? From what I've seen so far, bars seem to shut at 12. Not been to Dublin in years and the last Scotland match I was at there was one Barry Ferguson scored in and it was still the open terracing!
  3. Anybody hear about or planning a march to the ground? About 35mins from Temple Bar.
  4. Check this great song by Clanadonia for the Women's World Cup https://clanadonia.bandcamp.com/track/bring-it-home-bonnie-lass-2
  5. Check this BBC news item. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42270759 It basically guarantees Scotland to be playing England at Euro 2020 IF we qualify. Euro 2020 host city pairings Each qualified host country will play a minimum of two games at home. Group A: Rome & Baku Group B: Saint Petersburg & Copenhagen Group C: Amsterdam & Bucharest Group D: London & Glasgow Group E: Bilbao & Dublin Group F: Munich & Budapest As you can see, each host nation is guaranteed to play 2 home matches and London and Glasgow have been paired together in Group D which means if we both qualify then we will be in Group D together. I wonder where they would play the Scotland V England match!! Just need to qualify now......
  6. Should've asked - do you know if any of the seats around these tickets are occupied by Scots? Thanks.
  7. Where are your tickets for guys? i.e. which block? I have some pals who might be interested. Hauniscots - As your tickets are together, would you be willing to sell just 2? How much are your tickets?
  8. Good on you for sticking with your principles. I want to go there too as it is where I have always gone but I equally don't want to be part of a large crowd of singing, drinking football fans who will inevitably upset some people who just want to quietly reflect and remember. I'm not saying the TA are not capable of being respectful but we want to enjoy ourselves too and I just don't see that happening for me at Trafalgar Square if I am conscious of disturbing others. I will certainly swing by to pay my respects and see how the atmosphere is. enjoy yourself whatever you choose to do!
  9. Check out this link - you can click on the block your seat is in and see the view from there. Quite pleased with mine - Block 130. http://www.wembleystadium.com/TheStadium/ViewFromYourSeat
  10. Sorry, I think you misunderstood me. I will try to get there myself, I have even bought a couple of those little crosses with poppies on to leave but what I meant was that there will still be several hundred or more that will just go there to booze as we normally do. As there is no official alternative a lot of footsoldiers and newbies will default to norm. The unfortunate side effect of this is that they will likely disturb/upset people who will be going there to pay their respects.
  11. Easy tiger, I don't think he was trying to force anything on you. He didn't say we must all wear one or you aren't Scottish type of thing. He merely suggested that if we all wear one it would be an 'up yours' to FIFA. Now whether you believe they deserve that or not is a different matter but give the guy a break! What I think is bad about forums like this is that people are so quick to rant at others who are merely giving their opinion or suggesting things. (No problem ranting when someone TELLS or DEMANDS that you do something/don't do something etc.)
