  1. When the graduate at work doesn't know who Paul Daniels & Debbie McGhee are... When you start "planning" your hangovers. When the starlet actresses you used to enjoy watching online now appear under the "MILF" category Remembering old message board threads that talk about feeling old.
  2. Hardly a surprise. The Monarchy is notoriously Blue Tory - especially now the Red Branch have elected a republican as their new leader. Wait until she goes then call Indy2 - even the few monarchists I know won't accept Charles as their King. Hopefully the sense of Britishness will dive enough to see YES win.
  3. As mentioned - unless there was evidence this dog was mistreated or not looked after adequately then this is awful. Obvious problem with viral videos is that they often don't tell the whole story. If not then the bams that took the dog should be charged with theft and causing undue stress to both the dog and its owner. World gone mad.
  4. Only a 6% swing needed for victory next time. Dare I say it - I think the next referendum should be called after the change in Monarchy. When Charles takes the throne I would predict some people's feelings of "Britishness" might take a dive. This coupled with the "I don't like Alex Salmond" crowd could be enough to swing it.
  5. Not character but amazing performance. Bruno Ganz as Adolf Hitler in Downfall.
  6. Do you still get 10p crisps? Or are they 20p now?
  7. At first I was thinking this is too soon following last year's vote. Then it got me thinking that this could be an absolute blinder depending on the exact wording. I predict that the SNP has no intention in calling a referendum in the next 5 years but by including references / triggers in this manifesto it shows that they've not abandoned their core goal and the "threat" of it remains so it won't be forgotten from the Unionist parties. Continuous polls over the next few years will also ensure media coverage remains. In Nic We Trust.
  8. Can't see how this would have worked with the electorate. It was the 55+ demographic that won the referendum for the NO camp. Voters in this demographic are the most reluctant to any kind of change - and introducing a brand new concept like this would unlikely have done much good. For me though, this is the area that lost the referendum for YES. 1 because the plan for use Sterling wasn't solid and it gave the NO crowd easy ammunition to use in their Fear Campaigns.
  9. Watched the first 2 episodes of Baller last night - worth a watch if you're into American Football and the culture around it. Quite funny too.
  10. Realistically we need to beat Poland and hope they beat Ireland in the last game for us to get 3rd. Poland v Ireland draw would also be enough for us to get 3rd on the head to head. http://ultra.zone/UEFA-EURO-2016-qualifying#group=d Then even if all that pans out, there would still be a playoff to get through. Friday was a major setback.
  11. Scotland 0-3 Germany. They will comfortably win.
  12. Would be a good idea. I'm sure Belmont Street in Aberdeen has a portable urinal thing? Or it did last time I was there, I think / hope?
  13. It's simple - The Establishment victimises those on benefits and refugees to divert the attention away from tax avoidance and evasion by big corporations that actually cost the treasury considerably more. Doesn't help that it's a Tory government that's in Westminster just now and that's kinda their "thing." Rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer - right there in the cliche script. Rule Britannia and all that...
  14. I've been with LoveFilm / Amazon for a few years now and like it. I've just cancelled the DVDs in the mail as the streaming is pretty good. Depends what you're using it for though I guess. I think a general "rule" is that Netflix is better for box sets / Amazon better for films but happy to be challenged on that one!
  15. As posted on another thread - http://ultra.zone/UEFA-EURO-2016-qualifying#group=d Barring some shocks - if we don't beat Georgia then it's game over for automatic qualification.
  16. Ugh - there are some absolutely bowfin scenarios in there. If we don't beat Georgia then it's game over in terms of automatic qualification
  17. At least it's a favourable way round for us. Imagine we played Germany then Georgia...
  18. Definitely. Fortunately there doesn't seem to be much of the "would you take a draw" chat. Georgia is a definite must win, not just for points but if we are serious about going to a tournament, these are the kind of games we need to comfortably win.
  19. Came off the bench and scored yesterday. Will be good for his morale going into these games.
