Pulisic is arguably better than anything we’ve got and Iran are no mugs. Hopefully, they’ll see us as the least of 3 evils and focus elsewhere! However, if we get past Ukraine then Wales, I would take that draw, particularly with the fixtures in the order they are and we get off to a fast start.

You could also email the lads on the thistle rugby podcast (see their Twitter feed for details) and they may read out your message. There is, apparently, a Scottish rugby Facebook page and also a reasonably busy Glasgow warriors message board. Agree. Separately, I am watching on red tv instead of sky sports. Is the sectarian chanting coming through loud and clear on that too, or is it turned down for the bigger audience? Do the police even do anything about it, or am I being a bit naive there?

I thought Armenia were half-decent now. Not sure. From an away trip point of view, I’d love Kiev again, although not if we’re playing Russia by the time the game comes round. I also fancy Bucharest. Would be a good double header with Kiev. Speaking of double headers, the TA and gonorrhoea hot spot on the Dniepr - the River Palace - is alas no more.

I’ve booked a hotel in cardiff with free cancellation up to 24 hours before the match. I suppose I should do the same in Vienna, but I’ve got mates there who would probably put me up. Can just drive to cardiff - as I’m not going to Hampden for the Ukraine game, I’ll probably have the laptop open during the game for flights to Vienna! If we do make it to the finals, I’m not sure what to do. I’d love to go, but if I’m being polite, it doesn’t seem like a particularly fun place to go.
